i imagine it's heated up in the kiln, pulled out of the kiln on a stainless or boro (hell even quartz) punty and then just heated and twisted. probably would be easier with a glory hole, but i'm sure if your torch was big enough that would work too.
i've been wanting to try this with some mini coke bottles i have, i just haven't gotten around to it yet.
