As far as repairs and maintenance, I sent my Bobcat in once for cleaning in the 5 years I had the torch. Torches don't "break" really, unless they are abused in some ways. They can get dirtied up inside, and sending them in for a cleaning makes them like new again.
The Lynx is a decision you won't regret if that's the one you are leaning toward.
