I am not familiar with the Canon lines of film cameras (used Nikons then) . . . but it depends. If the Canon AE1 is both manual and automatic, the lenses will probably work. My ancient fully manual Nikon lenses won't fit with the DSLRs. You can call B&H Photo and ask!
