This is how I set mine up. You can put small stuff on top, but sitting it on the screen inside tends to work better. The screen keeps the softer glasses like white from sticking to the ceramic liner. I used a piece of screen gutter guard to line the bottom. This is a great tip. There are lots of stuck glass on the inside of my warmer from the rods I return to it while they are still too hot! Plus I cut my finger really badly when I tried to 'brush the bits of glass out', DUH! where was my brain that day!
