Well I have my laptop with me and my phone for service. Hospitals should always have a way of connecting to their servers.
Anyhow, it's been a long night and day so far. Don't have results for MRI yet and still waiting for the Dr to do an Endoscopy. Her Hemoglobin levels were 6. Normal is 14 so they think she's bleeding somewhere. She has no black stools and is not throwing up blood so where the heck is the blood going? Since she's on Coumadin, they have to get her inr levels lower so she doesn't bleed to much for the endoscope. Dr is running behind and mom hasn't had a drink f water or any food since yesterday so I'm a bit on the bitchy side.
She's getting 4 pints of plasma and 3 pints of whole blood transfusions. So who knows, maybe she had a minor stroke due to the anemia???
Hope to know more later. Got my stuff to stay the night and we'll see how it goes

Well we were supposed to be going home today. Had discharge papers signed, all of our stuff packed up, mom dressed and then..........took her temperature and it was 100.3. Brakes screeched and here we are. Another full day and night in a hospital. Mom is a little scared and I can't leave her alone. I soo miss my home, bed, doggies and kids. "Sigh" Shipping is off for another day.

Irene,
I know this is exhausting and worry is everyhwhere but I am sure your Mom appreciates having someone there she can count on to look out for her while she is ill. I am praying she gets well soon.

Dear Irene, I just had to post after I read this this morning...I know what you are going through and how hard it is. I lost my mom to lung cancer when I was 23, she coughed up a bit of blood and 3 week in ICU after surgery she died in my arms, my dad a few years later, I brought him home from Alaska to care for him. After 9 months he went from a built Santa to 90 pounds of bone before he left me. This past year my big sister fallowed them after a year of suffering from brain as well as lung cancer, she did not want me to see her suffering so would not allow me to visit. She was in Alaska and I in Seattle so I couldn't just pop over to see how she was, the phone was my only way to talk with her. I don't know what was harder...being the nurse to my dad, holding my mom, or not being able to help my sister. I do know they are all gone and I can't tell them anymore but through God how much I love and miss them each and every day. I'm so glad I did before they left, it's been my saving grace. Please don't allow added stress to what you already are dealing with. God Bless your Mom and You. My prayers are with you. Robin

Robin,
I'm sooo sorry for all the loss in your life. Reading your post just put tears in my eyes. I know that I too will face what you have but am not ready for it.
Mom's doing okay now. Has lots of dizziness and is still dealing with a rash all over her body. We finally got the culture back and found it was a "staph" infection. On more meds to clear that up now.
We both saw Libby last week and it was the first time mom has seen Libby bald. I think it finally hit her. She was always in the dark about Libby's cancer and how bad it was but Libby felt it was time. I don't know how much longer either one has here on earth. There's a probable chance I'll be losing both of them this year.

Irene, I am so sorry for the pain you are going through right now. I agree with what everyone else has said that your family must come first. It just shows what a caring and thoughtful person you are that you would take the time to let everyone know about shipping delays. With everything you are dealing with, you are still thinking of other people.
Try and get some rest and don't overdo it. We want you to stay healthy!
Big hugs and bigger prayers.

Thank you Diane and everyone. It's been a long week and my sister Libby is in the ICU unit. Her hemoglobin levels were down to 3.0 (normal is 14 or so) She'll be having blood transfusions all night and tomorrow and endoscopy to stop bleeding. (Same thing that happened to my mom just a few weeks ago. My mom's bleeding could have been from the coumidan, my sister's could be from chemo.
Mom's vision seems to be worsening and she has dizziness all the time. The rash is still there and I'm constantly on the phone with someone. Trying to get her on a different antibiotic because the bactrim doesn't seem to be working.
Her memory has also been getting worse and now I'm reminding her about her meds always. She keeps asking if she took it, does she take it, when she takes it again. It's been pretty exhausting to say the least. My 3 other sister's have not stepped in to give me a day off or two. I wrote an email today pretty much explaining that although it was my choice (since no one else would) to take her in, it would be nice if they could kind of help once and awhile. Not fair to put it all on one person. She's not happy as well because only one sister has visited in the almost 2 months she's been here.
I also got hired today for a job that I applied for 5 months ago. It is an opportunity that I can't pass by. Now to figure that into my business and mom. I need training and testing at 80% or higher to make it through. Going to be an adventure to say the least! Flame Kissed is still up and operational and I hope to keep it going for a long time. I'll figure it all out in due time. I appreciate all your prayers and thoughts.
