Anyone know where I can buy supplies- presses, threaded mandrels, etc. to make knobs for kitchen cabinets?

You can also get them from perlenpresse.de, they have quite a few, but I don't know if the systems are compatible. JKC

We do sell them, a variety of shapes. Thank you for the link glassymom. We sell the Make-A-Knob kits designed by Marj Bates. When we wanted to make knob presses, we wanted to work with her because we felt her design was well constructed, and we did not want to produce a similar product if it's already out and working, so our presses are manufactured by us and the MAK kits are made by Marj, but all can be ordered at once on our site.

I made a knob on the end of a mandrel & then glued it onto a screw. Could only be suitable for a small drawer or cabinet.. I didn't use a press etc but it was quite pretty.

I was wondering about making something right on the end of a screw or bolt. Anyone tried it?

I tried it. BAD idea. The composition of the bolt did not work very well in the torch and it poluted the glass. I guess if you could find some 100% stainless you would be ok but it would also be very pricey.

I make all of my knobs from things I can buy from the local hardware store.

I think the make a knob inserts from Marj Bates (and Zooziis) look the most professional. Making a knob on the end of a screw would have a screw sticking into the drawer, instead of a screw head flush on the inside.

I figured to cut the end off after the knob was finished so that it would be just long enough to put a nut. I would still have something there, but not a lot.
