Unlimited Oxygen, Jack Ridgeway
Jack,
I am inquiring as to when I will receive the $400 owed me that on May 29 you said would be sent with the shipment of the last Hurricane. On July 2, on this forum, you had said the Hurricane and assorted other items would be shipping soon and the refund would be a couple days after.
The Hurricane arrived July 10. When I asked by private email if you could tell me when I would get the $400 you said no, you couldn't give me an exact date. When I asked in another email if you could at least give me a ballpark time I never got a response. We have tried handling this via your personal email but the last couple of emails my husband asked about it and the question went unanswered each time.
Never at any time prior to our agreement did you say that there would be a problem sending the $400, even up to the time that you were shipping the Hurricane and said it would be a couple days for the money. Please, I am once again asking you to send the $400.

Hey Maryann
I am responding to your post only because you made the decision to air our laundry. I am the one who offered the refund because you and Billy recieved the first unit damaged. To Keep from sending you the same unt back, I offered to build you 2 Hurricane units to replace the 2N1 Hurricane. I did build and ship the 2 Red Hurricanes
Even then, you recieved one damaged. I offered to send replacement parts and a refund to assist you in the repair. I paid for the shipping and parts and all replacements. I did not give a time frame on the refund. I offered it out of the kindness and fairness of my heart. Please give me the same consideration. I will send it when I have it.

Jack, My husband and I have shown more than ample amounts of consideration and cooperation throughout this process and I take exception to the statement that appears to allude to us being otherwise. I have sent you an email.

Hi jack - I am looking at purchasing a concentrator. Is it common for them to be damaged during shipment?

My box had a good gash in the side but the concentrator was packed very well and was in fine condition.
ETA I imagine you will get multiple replies like this. If there was a strong record of damage, combine that with the long wait for the machines, it would be plastered all over this site and he would be run outta 'town' LOL

Sorry for not getting back right away. Shipping damage is not common but it does happen. I sent an M15 to Ross in Oregon that was involved in a train crash. Totally f.u.b.a.r.ed. I replaced the unit. I had 2 M20s in the last month with the bottoms busted out, the compressor hanging out the bottom. But like I said, maybe 1 out of 50 or more do get damage. I does suck so bad when you guys wait 8 weeks for a unit that arrives broken. I usually replace it right away, and dont wait for UPS to settle.

myself and everyone i know has had no issues at all with shipping damage. i think it's more an isolated incidents.
the people who have shipping issues are quick to post negatives about it.....everyone who gets one in A1 condition doesn't post a rant about it.
what i'm saying is, people are quicker to post a negative review over a positive review...when we get something in good order we just use it, not post about it.
that's my take on it.

I had horrible shipping damage on one of my M20's, I had the M20 with the compressor hanging out . While it was an inconvience to me while waiting Jack replaced the damgaed unit, Jack replaced the unit no problem!
can shipping damage occur? yes should you let that prevent you from ordering? no

I've purchased three units from Jack n the last year or so and all arrived undamaged.
I'm about to purchase a fourth.
His support is unparalleled, and his quality is outstanding.
He is often slow to communicate, a bit behind on shipping, and I have the impression struggles a bit with cash flow at times but I think it's because he is so committed to giving us great oxy cons at far lower prices than anyone else and thus he runs a minimal, low overhead operation with skinny margins.
For me, I'd rather have the prices where they are and put up with some minor frustrations related to business practice then pay what the others charge to (maybe) get it faster and easier.
Ad I have every reason to think he is honest. He has always taken care of anything I asked quickly and cheerfully.

Mike, when something negative happens people will talk about it more often than something positive. Not just here, in the news (every day), in sports, on the streets, everywhere. ITS HUMAN NATURE.

I have to say, I ordered my one of my oxy cons from Jack and it arrived promptly and without damage. The one I ordered from ABR, arrived damaged and at a far more expensive price. When it is time for another, I will not hesitate to order from Jack.

I ordered my very first concentrator/generator from a glass retailer who then proceeded to repackage it. When I used to unit itonly lasted a few days. The retailer sent me to Jack and said it was their problem. Jack resolved the issue at his own cost out of his own pocket. And was still so pleasant to work with.
Jack is one of the best around.

DANG !!!!!!
OT:
We have a great relationship with Jack and UO2 is the ONLY company we
buy from/support.
His schedule is harried, his employees need a beating, but his heart is
in the right place and that counts far more to us.
I got your back, Jack !!!
If you want support forever and a low price, have patience and go UO2.
If you are in a hurry, spend 2X (or more) and get it quicker from a glass
vendor.

I live close enough to pick mine up. Which was nice, because I got to meet Jack in person, and he is a very nice guy! I would say Erik (signguy) is correct in his comments. Jack looked very busy.

Jack is a decent stand up guy. I recently bought a Respironics Millennium concentrator off craigslist (same brand Jack uses) and he walked me through (over the phone) making sure the unit was up to par and matched my M15 that I bought from him. He is the nicest guy to deal with. I love my M15 and will be loyal customer for other concentrator needs in the future.

Got mine repaired and shipped back in good condition.
The shipping was insane, but I'm not going to blame him
for that (you're basically shipping a small house).
Arrived with no dents or problems.
I would definitely buy from him again.

I have 2 oxycons from Jack, purchased a year apart. No damage during shipping and they work wonderfully. I'll be ordering from him again when I'm able to equip my new teaching studio.
