Default lpm to psi ratio?

Can anyone tell me how many lpm translates into how many psi? I'm trying to hook up a Carlisle minicc and I have 2 Air Sep oxycons. The instructions say to set the air to 25 psi. If 5 lpm equals 10 psi then 2 oxycons isn't enough...

They don't translate. They aren't the same thing. LPM is Liters Per Minute, which is flow rate. PSI is Pounds Per Square Inch, which is pressure.

Usually I dial the output back about .5 LPM or so to increase the purity a bit. With two 5 LPM machines set at 4.5 LPM this would give you 8.5 to 9 LPM of oxygen which should be good for a MiniCC. Most concentrator have a fixed pressure from 7 to 9 PSI. You do not gain any pressure by combining machines, in fact you will probably lose a bit of pressure.

You never want to run a concentrator at maximum output. They are already less pure than tanked oxygen, and the higher the output the more impure the oxygen becomes. On a 5 LPM machine, I never run them above 4 LPM.

I run my 5 lpm machine at about 3 - 3.5 for NG and a Betta. Works fine there, but much higher and it starts to lose the purity needed and the flame goes into reduction.

You can run a mini cc on one concentrator just fine. Turn it up to 5 lpm and you are all set.

Hmm. So then what's the point of hooking up 2 concentrators?

Increased flow rate. Especially on a Mini CC. They don't run well at all on a single concentrator. It's hard to get a good hot flame without going into reduction on a single concentrator.

You may lose a little pressure, but you'll gain volume. In other words, the gas might not be flowing quite as hard, but more gas will be flowing out. Trust me -- you'll like it better with two. (If you want, you can turn one of them off and try it, then turn the other one back on. I think you'll appreciate the difference! If you're not used to working on a propane/oxygen torch, though, wait until you've gotten a feel for it. At the beginning, it's going to feel very different from a HotHead no matter what's hooked up.)
