Default Streaming Lampworking: Butterfly Murrini + Requests incl. Lessons

Hi, I've decided to try livestreaming my lampworking, I will be working on several butterfly pulls over the next few weeks and am happy to do demos as well.

I'm best at cane but I can do most techniques well enough to demo. If there is anything you want to see let me know. If you are new I would be happy to show basic techniques as well. Just hop into the chat and let me know!

I expect to be streaming every night for at least 6 hours (with a few breaks as parts preheat or the kiln cycles).

Live!

For those who have been watching my stream, here are some pictures of pulls in progress from last year. I also demoed an implosion marble, here is what they look like when finished.

Thanks for sharing, I watched until I couldn't keep my eyes open. I wish I could have seen the final pull. Your butterflies are soooo beautiful!

Can you set up an email alert for next time you do this? Or maybe a tweet on twitter, even? Facebook? Anything?

I'm live again, I'll probably just stream every night I lampwork since its already set up.

Yesterday I did mostly prep work for butterflies, today I will be pulling wings. Let me know in the chat if you have anything you want to see.

I haven't tried very many clears but I use lauscha exclusively for beads and love it. I haven't done beads seriously for years though.

For waste glass at the end of pulls I use whatever I can get cheapest, usually large diameter garbage batches of vetro/effetre.

When doing paperweights/marbles I use schott pucks.

I try to avoid expensive glass since I go through the stuff so fast.

Got to see one wing built and garaged. Thanks!
Would love to see an implosion marble. Can you give us a heads up as to when you might do one again?

Finished for the day, although it looks like my internet cut out right at the end there.
Got 11 pulls done and ran completely out of black (~4lb over three days). I'm going to have to join shorts until my order comes in.

I'll cut em up tomorrow and do some pictures. Since I will be working with larger pieces there will be a lot of waiting for things to heat up. There will be a lot of time to demo whatever you want to see.

I saw the marble demo, you made it look so easy. And the tips along the way were great. Thanks for sharing!
