Default Coring with Stainless Steel?

I have a customer asking for a stainless steel core instead of sterling. I have found annealed stainless steel tube

Anyone ever tried it? I am not sure about the wall thickness?

I would be interested in this too. I checked speedymetals.com.....I do remember someone saying the sterling form the bulk buy was 27 gauge wall thickeness...not sure how stainless would differ from sterling. The sterling tube I have is 5.08mm OD.

I think it would be hard to core with stainless steel. I wonder how much it would spread over the ends without splitting. I have no basis in fact for my supposition that it would be less malleable than silver, but it just seems like it would.
