This looks like an exciting tutorial, but it really piqued my interest with the no bead release issue.

Could you clarify it for me? LOL!!

I KNOW, I KNOW, or at least I think I know. Sandy, something tells me there is a lot of "heat control" needed for this little vessel! Might as well buy my hot plate now?

The only thing I can think of is for soft glass, might want to keep your stringers and puntys warm so they don't shock. Other than that, Everything else should be fine. Soft glass workers know to keep their work on the rod warm by flashing it back and forth through the flame while they are working on it. My daughter uses soft glass and she doesn't use a hot plate but if you feel more comfortable, then sure. This really isn't as difficult as it looks. You'll be surprised.

I could give you a little hint.. but naaah!! LOL I"ll let it stay a surprise!

Sandy!!! You know everyone is DYING to see this tutorial, me included! I've not tackled a vessel yet - I'm wondering if you've never made a vessel before, this might be a bit over one's head? Just hoping to avoid disappointment in myself...

I will start you right from the very beginning and you'll find it so easy, really. I even take you through the prep and what all you will need right from the beginning and how to prepare your glass prior to starting the project. The vessel is not at all hard to make hun. The reason there are so many photo's is to leave out any doubt on ANYTHING that might be asked.. The instructions in text as very direct and to the point and not a whole lot of reading. It's mostly visual because the photos speak so well.. You could make this vessel without even reading the text.

A beginner can make this vessel if they have some lampwork experience.

It's simple, to the point and easy to follow. That's what all this work I'm doing is for. So it will make it easy on you.

Don't let all the hoopla intimidate you. It' all in fun and a build up.. of anticipation is all, so relax and enjoy, ok?

I want to let everyone know, This is a large download. approx 16 megs. The file is big so if you do not have a high speed connection you might want to ask someone who does, to Download it for you and burn you a CD. High speed will have no problems. The images are very high res and very clear for printing purposes. Each image can be enlarged to an 8X10 without being distorted or loose data, not that you need it but it helps in making the images very well defined when printing the document.
Just a (FYI) in advance.

Al-der-gees - twice a year - early this year - thanks.

Linda, the tut ho, who has never actually made anything resembling the tut writer's creations but who enjoys the process.

Thanks, Sandy - for the reassuring words! I can make a 1 1/2" hollow, on a Hot Head no less, but I tried a vessel on the end of a hollow mandrel and it pretty much blew up! That was my end of trying, but I may be ready to give it another go! Pleated bead, still haven't tried...this will be quite a learning experience for me~

Think of it this way. Not only will you learn to make pleated vessels, but any vessel for that matter, and.. You'll learn to make some really nice matching handles taboot. And a few other little tricks along the way!

I'm very curious about this new tut but please in your new thread, post a little picture of the front instead of a huge full page because this scrolling from left to right to read is making me absofrikkinlutely nuts!
