Default What's your favorite Boro clear?

It's been a while since I bought clear and I'm about ready to run out of my 5mm.

I use it mainly for encasing. Which brands do you recommend? Who has the best prices?

Thanks,

Shirley

I like Simax for encasing because it doesn't react as much with heavily saturated colors.

I buy mine from either Mountain Glass Arts or ABR.

Also use Simex. Nice and clear and works well with Northstar. Use a lot of 2 mm for encasing beads. The nice part is that a case of 2 mm is about 700 1500mm rods. That is a lot of encasing!

How does Corning Pyrex compare to Simex?

Pyrex doesn't work as well. It reacts more with saturated colors. It works great for fuming, but not so well for encasing.

I don't think I've ever used anything but Simax. Wale is having a 40% off anniversary sale on almost everything right now. I'm pretty sure there are places that will honor their competitors sales too. Or I could be mistaken about that.
