ISO - Tree Trunk Technique

Howdy all...

I am wanting to make a tree trunk bead - which looks like bark. Has anyone done a tut for this? Been trying different ideas, but nothing really looks very good.

What I am using is encased silvered ivory. Looks nice for tree trunks.

Or another combination is to just mix ivory, root beer and a brown together into a huge glop and pull it out into a thick to thin cane. Use the thin ends for branches and the thicker for tree trunk.

Thanks peoples! I used a brown and used my razor to score lines here and there. Then I did a base barrel in dark ivory and laid some SIS on and pulled it here and there - that is my favorite so far - looks a bit like a white birch.

Thanks everyone for your help and for all of your tips and links. I ended up using encased silvered ivory and got just the effect I wanted. You all are so sweet to help.
