glass storage i am going to try
not everyone has shelves and space to place their glass rods in a nice neat place. I dont have huge amounts of glass yet. but I have 3 different kinds now. so I ordered some storage tubes from Bass pro shops.
http://www.basspro.com/C&H-Lures-Lur.../product/8461/
They are not as long as I had hoped to get but i got the small ones for my smaller pieces and when i make stringers and the larger one for my main glass storage.
I keep my glass supplies are in a tub with a lid in my garage. Since I have so little space i need to be able to move things easy and the tub works well for now untill i can build a real place to mount the torch and work.
I am hoping this coming summer to get a bit of cleaning done and make the space i desire.
Thought i would share. Have a happy holiday season.

They look like they're going to work great, and added benefit of keeping your glass clean & grime free!

That sounds expensive to me Uline and several other suppliers have tubes available, usually you have to buy the caps separately.

I tried the clear plastic tubes that fluorescent lights go in from Lowes. Four feet long for about $4 cut into 12 inch lengths with a hobby knife is $1 a piece. Then my stash got to heavy and I changed to the vinyl fence.

PS. I use bubble straws for stringer and store them in the same cubicle with their matching rods.
This is what I mean

They are $4 for four foot length at lowes.

I use plastic craft storage bins with drawers, and group colors together. Holds shorts, stringers, etc. I can stack them on my shelves. I've found no better way to keep my glass organized and clean.

I torch on my back porch and store everything on this cart from harbour freight.
My aluminum backing is stuck on with velcro because dh could not drill the holes int he cart with his drill. it is coming off and we need to look at a new solution because occasionally the tubes slide out the back.

I use a cheap test tube set for my stringers.

I do the same thing. I "seal" one end using the method shown in step 3 on this page:
