Default Question about Renaissance wax consistency

I bought a small container of the Rennaisance wax years ago. It was a tiny ball that was very dry. It did not spread or coat at all, even when I used a cloth to rub down my pieces, so I tossed it. Was this the normal texture, or should I have heated it first before using? Maybe it was just old, but I don't have anything to compare it to or know what it should look like or how it should behave. So, before buying another container of it (or not), does anyone have tips or photos showing its usual appearance? I have read through several LWE threads (and subscribed to most of them) about this wax specifically and coating etched beads and metal in general, but couldn't find answers to these questions. TIA

Cheri, it should fill the container and have the consistency of paste wax, like you'd use on your car. It should come out on your cloth or brush easily. I've never heated mine and it's very easy to scoop out however much I need.

Okay, thanks! I will try some more again, and this time know if it's dried out or still fresh.
