Sue they look awesome!! You need to post some of this stuff in the gallery where everyone will see it!

Jan, You can prepare the cane any time before you make the bead. With all of the soft glass beads I made, I had no problems with shock on the prepared eyes at all. If you are concerned or are having a problem with shocky glass, try putting the eyes on a little mug warmer or something while you make the bead

Thanks for everything. I've been sketching out a little boro dinosaur-type thingy to try on Thursday night at open torch. We'll see!

Ordered my cricket!

You won't be sorry, MaryBeth. Be sure to post pictures once you get up and running with "eyes!"

I just had a chance to skim it and I am totally impressed! I have taken a lot of classes with "name" beadmakers and this tutorial deserves a place among them.

Can't wait to try it! I already have several things I want to use the eyes for

Ask and you shall receive. (Are you sick of me yet?)

Introducing: "I only have eyes for you!" And my attempt at a dinosaury critter. I wanted to put eyes in something but I didn't want it to look like an "I learned from Pipyr and this is what I can copy that I learned from her!" So it's a little different....

This was a fun tut to try, that's for sure. The instructions were very clear and concise. Here is just a little thing:

I joined the "HEART EXCHANGE" and made more hearts with eyes from Pipyr's tutorial:

Then I joined the "TUTORIAL EXCHANGE" where you send in beads from the tutorials you own:

I am still having fun! These eye canes go forever. I'm still working on using up the ones I made in my Pipyr class!

OK I'm late to the game but I missed your pictures, Sue!! You are on a roll!!!! The canes really do last forever, don't they? I don't think I have any that I've used up. I normally just end up getting tired of one and make more instead

I'm waiting on more pics from everyone!!

This one is a bit embarrassing, but here's my use of the Pipyr eyes for my cat for the cat bead exchange.

I left too much clear, so they are a bit oogly...... and totally forgot to insert them in the right way up (but I did mark the rods properly), so next time I hope to do everything right!

They make really great cat eyes and I want to make some greenish ones next.

This tutorial is absolutely fabulous Pipyr - even a relatively noob like me found it really easy following your instructions!

That's a great start, Nat!! Yep, a lot less clear and less heat on the actual eyeballs...Remember, you want them to be warm, but not warm enough to move the glass. Your cane looks like it's awesome!!!! Nice!

I just got this tutorial a few days ago. I have been having a great time playing with making eye cane in boro.
Here are my first attempts.

Thank you pipyr for a great boro tutorial. I can't wait to get the color tutorial when it comes out.
