And the cupola is now installed ... we're very excited. It's all coming together! Though we won't be in for summer holidays I'm told. Ah well .. all the more time to get stuff done inside properly.

Thanks! It really is very exciting ... I get to go up there on 27 May to see in person, I haven't seen it in person since they blasted the foundation hole!! My studio is on the other side. But it is all coming on nicely. Had a problem with the windows from Marvin, all the frame trims were crooked so they all had to be sent back to the factory to be redone so that put things back about 6 weeks. Won't be ready for summer this year but a friend has very kindly offered us to stay at her house just up the road when we're there. Can't wait.

Inside of my studio, it's narrow but long. Hope I can fit stuff in there!! The workbench will be against the outside wall. Have my hood in the middle between the two windows, I think ... am going up there on 27th May so can figure out that stuff then I hope.

Ah well ... Update ... My studio is now the laundry!

But DH has said we can get a shed out front which I can use - and then store garden stuff in there when I am not using it! I think the space will work better. I will also get a better view of the water! But won't be ready til next summer ... So no torching at all this summer!

Oh man! But I'm glad a plan is in place for a new space now that the previously planned one is repurposed.

Well, I love my shed, so I think that converting a shed is a great way to build a studio. Maybe you could talk him into doing it sooner, though? Having to wait that long would drive me crazy! Just a thought.

Is it an iPhone pic? My daughter took a bunch of scenery pics upside down one time! lol

You could open the pic in Windows picture viewer (just double-click on the thumbnail on your hard drive, it's automatic) or some other photo editing program and rotate it until it's right side up and save it.

Then just re-upload it and edit your post with the new image #.

Unless you want to defy gravity.

Lorraine, many thanks .. y'know ... I have absolutely no idea how they got it up there!!! Good point, I will have to find out how they managed it - it is just 2 guys working on the building most of the time. They have started adding the shingles outside, the inside is now sheetrocked ... all going well. Just hope I have my shed for summer next year!

I saw where you were trying to decide what to use for a work bench. I have a folding 6 ft table that I bought at Wal-Mart. I put 1/2" cement backer board on the surface. Built a cover over it with 2 x 4s and 1/2" plywood and lined it with the cement board. That made it fire proof. You can drill holes through the entire thing to mount your torch. Cut a hole in the top or the back for your ventilation. Depending on the type of torch you are using, this may not work. My torch has never made the back wall even a little bit warm.
