Default Is there a tutorial this?

There is a certain bead (?) that I would LOVE to know how to do. It is on the front page of the 2011 Gathering Conference catalog.
It is the piece in the lower left corner. It has a dark blue base and a clear "spash" top to it.

Maybe its above and beyond my skill set but I still love that affect.
To anyone who has any ideas, thank-you, thank-you THANKYOU in advance!

Have a great day

Duane

Duane,
Check this out. It might get you started on how this look is created.

She even has an ETSY site with a couple really over priced items:

Hey Duane,

I did a short course with Anne in jan 2010 when she was over holidaying in Australia and she taught us how to make the "splash" beads. They are surprisingly easy to do once you know the tricks, and perhaps Anne would be happy to answer if you send her an email. The how-to is easy, it is the fine tweeking that gets me with these buggers

Nat

Hi Natalie! Thank-you so much for the tip. I will send an email to Anne

Anne is a great artist and has the right to price her work at whatever she feels. She isn't underpricing and bringing the market down.

I don't think the price for the first black/clear splash bead is over priced at all, considering the size of it.

You're right she is a great artist and I never said that she wasn't. I also never said that she didn't have the right to price her work at whatever she feels. My comment was not meant to be derogatory. I simply stated that $250.00 for 1 bead was overpriced in my mind. There was no need to read into the comment any further than that!

Thank-you, Rob

Barb, I didn't even notice the listed size of that first one. I think most of them are like 40 x 40 mm? (I just want to try to make a small one)
