Default Cool!!!!

Well this is the coolest thread ever!!!! I have been jumping around on here and am now going to go read this in the right order, WAY COOL you guys!!!!

lol I have read the last page lol

I have been working on some short and cheap lol tutorials on different beads that can be made with different canes and twisty, like one type of cane and then 4 or 5 (or more) different ways to apply it. (Was lacking in the cookbook lol) Nothing longer then about 20-30 pages PDF. With lots of photos and none more then 10-15$, I was planning to get a bunch done then put them all on Etsy at once,
Would it be better to put them up as I go???? I was going to get them all done by Christmas is that soon enough???

Maybe a dumb question but is the main color, EDP, in a paddle shape ? I'm not sure I understand the photo.

Busted I forgot to say that Yes. the Core color or paddle shape is the EDP and the other colors are put on around it....

I have hunted all over for Kims tut Help?

I use Kimberly Afflack's seahorse twiste tutorial so it makes super fine lines of color.

Another combo I really like is a base of OY, Big stripe of copper green, big stripe of EDP, small stripe of transparent Rootbeer to Dark Amber, another of transparent Emerald Green or Teal, and maybe another stripe of Coral.
Again using Kim's twist tutorial.
Looks great on EDP or Dark Violet or New Violet. If you press it so it chills the colors

I'm off to try Mary's technique. Thanks Mary!

I deleted my previous post, realized Kimberly removed the tutorial but hasn't added it to her website yet. Here is a copy of the tutorial still up on Corina's website:

Noodlesaurus makes the twistie holders. They work great because they hold the heat so well.

The blog is gone? so many cool inspirations there.

Speaking of, any new posts to share? I'm in a slump and feel like doing twisties, which I sat there last night wasting glass trying to find new ideas

You can find the Seraphim Flamework posts on the wayback machine; just go to the oldest one they crawled.

i heard in some tut that if the twisty is more the size of a glass rod (cane??) that you should anneal it just like a bead before you use it. it is really annoying when you loose some of the carefully made twisty to the desktop in small shards.

You can find the Wayback Machine here: http://archive.org/web/web.php . It crawls the internet to archive all the websites it can get to.

To use it, put the URL into the empty space that has http:// in it. If you are copying and pasting a website, be sure you don't have 2 http://! Just one. Then click on "Take Me Back"

Once you do, you'll see a calendar, with the months and days on the bottom, years near the top. The years with the black lines (this will make sense when you see it) are the ones the Wayback Machine has archived. Pick one, and it will take you to that year's calendar. The days hilighted in blue are the ones that have been archived. Click on any blue day and it will take you to the site as it was on that date. If you can't find what you're looking for on that date, try an earlier or later one.

And this works for ALL websites that have been Archived by the Wayback Machine - most have, but not all. Hope this made sense.

Have fun!
Alli

I have heard folks mention it a few times here and never thought to ask about it before.
What an utterly cool thing...
Thank you so much Alli!

Hope this is OK (better to ask forgiveness than permission?). I combined everything in a table for easier reference. Link is to a PDF chart. In another thread, I had a request for a text file. I can add a CSV file converted to a text file, if anyone wants that. The entries are in the order of the thread, with the contributor to make finding the full sized post easy to find.

I haven't progressed to making twisties or combination stringers, so I may be confused and corrections are welcome.

*grins* I love the Wayback Machine; really the entire site (Internet Archive) is absolutely amazing. The Gutenburg Project in in there, as well as the Moving Image Archive (from classic cartoons to the historical movies to feature films), the other archives are just as extensive. Very easy to get lost in it.
