Default Simple Green Safety

hi...
I'm wondering if simple green is safe to use around oxygen on hoses etc. to check for leaks and general cleaning? it says non flammable on the bottle and is a degreaser. I already used it on one of my two hoses and then realized i better check before doing the other one.

thank you for reading....faun!

Don't know about the simple green, but all you need is for something that will form bubbles on a leak, just a couple of drops of any dish soap in water is all you need.

Be careful of using soapy anything as a lot of them have oils of some sort in them. I use a product purchased from my safety guru at Maine Oxy that is specifically designed for checking leaks. It was very inexpensive.

You do not want anything with petroleum products or derivatives in them. I would avoid degreasers, as they would be suspect. If you don't want to do a bunch of research, the product Sue recommends is a simple solution. And one time testing with a degreasing soap is not enough to degrade the hoses, so no worries at this pont, especially if you wiped it off.

Smile simple green safety facts

I finally got through to the simple green people(sounds funny.) and they said that it contains zero petroleum distillates, grease or oil of any kind. It is non flammable and is used regularly in industries dealing with compressed oxygen gas safely at any concentration. It is water soluable. Just in case anyone else was wondering.

I use simple green to degrease all oxygen plumbing. I never thought of using it to leak check.
