My new ventilation system
I am so excited!
New hood & air exchanger...and switch from propane to natural gas. No need to open a window or door, and no more going outside & around the house to connect the propane! WOOHOO!

Thank you! I am in absolute heaven!!! The added bonus is that the air exchanger and the oxycons are behind a wall, and that keeps the noise level down!

do you have any pictures of how they exhaust and return air are vented outside your home. Do they go up thru the attic? Outside a wall?? I am going to have to accomplish this task with a small window from a basement. Though it is a walk out basement, my room is one the side of it that is buried up to a small window about 5 feet from the floor.
I'd love to see how you accomplished your goal!

Two holes were drilled through the basement wall (fortunately above cement). One hole for the exhaust, and the other for the return air. A plumber did all the work for me. Milford Plumbing in Milford, NH.

Is it a heat exchanger and not a air exchanger??? Terminology seems a bit confusing...

Right from their website: "RenewAire manufactures energy recovery ventilators. The unit is also known as an air exchanger or air to air heat exchanger." So, no need for confusion...I guess we can call it whatever we like. All I care is that it does the job!

I'm intrigued by your use of an HRV for this. It occurred to me that this type of system should, in principle, work to exhaust the bad air and bring in fresh air. I wasn't able to find one running at sufficient CFM for my purposes, however.
Was it the plumbers' idea to use this system? Do you know the specs on it?

My plumber did his homework and was unable to find a "household" unit that provided the proper CFM's, so we went industrial. I have the HE1XINH model by RenewAire.
