Default tungsten vs fluorescent

I'm trying to figure out which set up to get. Is tungsten a more "white" light? I know I read on here to get 5000K, but not sure which one is better. Thank you!!

Tungsten is 3200K and is a refined version of standard indoor lighting. It was the standard for product photography for years because it is what the best slide films were made for.

The 5000K was usually the old "Blue Bulbs" or ""Daylight bulbs" which were tungsten bulbs with a blue coating to compensate for the yellow cast of tungsten and simulate the daylight effect. This was for most print films and a couple slide films.

I believe fluorescent is more in the 6000K range but I will have to check. Digital cameras can be set to handle any light temperture as long as it remains constant.

Tungsten is wicked hot and the bulbs don't last very long. Bleh...

Daylight flourescent is nice and bright. The bulbs last a long time. I set my white balance to daylight.
