It's here! My shed-kit is here! I'll continue to update this post with pictures as they become available!

The count down for the "shed-ication" has begun!

Here's a picture of the concrete pad our old, metal shed used to be on. Dan and I finished taking it down this past weekend.

Day 1

I'll spare the details from the shed's delivery drama, but the kit finally made it at 8:00 in the evening. Here's what my garage looked like once everything was unloaded off the tracker trailer. Watson, of course, was supervising.

Since I can't stand it when things are in a mess, I spent the following 2 hours going through my inventory checklist and organizing all of the pieces into their logical groupings (i.e., wall studs, siding, roof boards, etc.). I was much happier with the results.

Day 2

I forgot to take a picture of the floor before we laid the plywood, but you get the idea. Here, my mom is checking out the floor before we added the last piece of plywood. Man...it get's dark early now!

My brother, the "carpenter", complete with a pencil behind the ear, nailing down the plywood floor. Note: Joe (my brother) isn't really a carpenter.

Here's a shot of my brother and his fiance, Lauren, as they continue to nail down the floor.

Don't let the above pictures fool you! I actually nailed together the floor's joists and hammerered down 1/2 of the floor! No one else likes to take pictures, which is why there'll probably be very few of me.

That's it for now! I'll continue to update this post with new pictures! Take care!

Karla

Okay! Rather than maintaining a log of my progress in two places (one for LE'ers and one for non-LE'ers), I'll just post a link here to my studio's webpage. Here you go!

http://www.sirwatson.com/studio_progress.html

I'll post a message in this thread each time I have an update.

Enjoy!

I wish I could work on the shed tonight...but it's raining. (boo!) Maybe I'll have another update tomorrow!

Default I moved to a shed too!

I was getting really depressed that I couldn't torch on my back porch anymore because of the wind so I went to my Dad to see if he could help me out. After the pitch about sales, "every lampwork set I put up for auction sells, Dad!" he's letting me use the hay shed that used to house the feed for the horse that they no longer have. It's an all metal shed, heavy weight, with a big door that I can leave open to ventilate. There's ventilation out the roof too. I'm on a hothead with the little bottles at this point but we'll probably get a bbq tank since it will be cheaper. I put the table right near the door. I still have to get a few things to get it up and running but the important thing is I'll be able to work again! I was just getting into the groove and starting to make some nice beads when I had to to quit because of wind problems. So I'm very happy about this. When I get it all set up I will post pics!!!

Hey guys! I've updated my studio page! Check it out! I'm 99% done with the exterior! I have a loooooong road still with finishing the interior, but I'm extremely happy with how my shed is turning out!

Let me know what you think!

Hi Chris! The shed's coming along great! Thanks for asking! I've got one coat of stain up and will do the other this week. Check out the last picture on my shed page to see what it looks like with the stain on.

Once the stain's done, I'll take a break from the shed for a week or so and will then start working on the electricity, insulation, drywall and floor. Whew!

Karla, I love the summerwood sheds! Yours turned out really cute. They are all really cute - I'm so excited about building mine this week.

I'm wondering what you all have used for your floors - anything fun and interesting??

I haven't laid my floor yet! Hopefully soon though! I'll be laying ceramic tile (13x13 square tiles). I'll be sure to post plenty of pictures during that step!!!

I have some updates! Paint is on the walls! The next step is flooring! I hope to knock that out on Saturday!

Here's a link to my shed updates:

That's going to be a great place to work. It's even better when the whole family has a part in making it happen. Great job.
