Default Metal Site for Stainless Hollow Mandrels... R They OK??

Ok, so I want to make large hole beads about 1/2" ID. The 1/2" mandrels online seem to be a bit pricey so I searched the web and found the following site. I was wondering if anyone had any idea if these would work for lampworking. They are Stainless Steel 304 12" hollow rods and cost $2.93 each. I'm not quite sure if the thinner or thicker walled ones would be better at not transferring too much heat to the fingers.

Opinions would be appreciated. Thanks
Sheri

They look pretty good. I'd seen other posts about using stainless brake line, but I had poor luck finding any around here.

The main thing with tubing getting hot is your release has to be completely dry or you can get steam coming out the end.

The stainless alloy is different. 316L is the best, 308 next best and I guess of those 3, 304 would be next/last.
