How do you like to view a gallery?
I'm thinking about moving my site and restructuring a bit and I am struggling with how to design my gallery page. I'm thinking about just showing 6-9 thumbnails of my best work at the top and displaying the large view below when someone clicks on the thumbnail.
How do you like to view a person's gallery?
Please link to an example (not necessarily lampwork) if you like.

If there are thumbnails, I like a smaller window to pop up -- so you have the big window with the smaller thumbnails still visible underneath the small window with the big pic. I hate having a larger picture come up below in the same window as the thumbnails because the thumbnails and the larger pic never seem to fit on my monitor, so I end up having to scroll up and down to get between the thumbnails and the larger pics. I prefer to just scroll once in one direction through big pics for this reason.

In peace and quiet.
Thumbnails and pop-up larger ones works for me.

I've been thinking about changing mine to pop up windows. That's a good idea. Now I just need to figure out how to do that. LOL!

Tink.....you enter the larger photo as a blank page. I know the code for it but I'd have to do it first to give to you.
Usually you click on the thumbnail or highlight it..whatever and then you give it a source which would be the bigger picture. Set it to blank page and that will pop up.
I have that on my webpage as well. Makes it easier to close and they are right back at the gallery instead of having to hit the back button.

i like thumbnails except when clicking them takes me to a marginally bigger pic or dead page link... or my popup blocker interferes. lol
i've recently started using RockYou.com which combines a slideshow and thumbnails - so far seems to work with minimal clicking for the viewer.

That really is irritating!!! I've noticed it on a few sites, including "large" commercial sites.
