Julia, I'm definitely going and I'll be glad to demo!
Speaking of demos, I'd love to see someone demo a marble or paperweight.

Hey everybody! I hope you all enjoy the heck out of your trip to Asheville. I was going to come this year, but instead have opted for lapband surgery, so I have to give all my trip money to the doctor next week.
For those of you traveling up I-75 to I-40 and heading east into Knoxville, TN, please be aware that I-40 is closed through downtown Knoxville. Check your maps and locate the I-640 bypass around the downtown area.
If you're coming from the Atlanta area, consider taking I-85 to Highway 441 instead. It's a prettier drive anyway.

Good luck Char! Here's hoping that we both have our waistlines back the next time we meet!

Good luck to both of you on those waistlines!
For those of you who are coming to the retreat - tomorrow evening look for a group email with directions, reminders of what to bring and lots more information. Looking forward to seeing everyone next week.

Oh my gosh! It was so much fun!!! This was such a change from the Fall Hot Times. We had unscheduled, "voluntary" demos, everyone shared, everyone filled the kilns every day and there were so many fun, interesting (and some new friends!) there that I wish it could have gone on for one more day.
Those of you who have been to retreats with me before know that I don't make squat the first day. I have to settle in. Today, I was dying to keep going all day!
Thanks SO much to Marjorie and Gary for making this awesome gathering happen for us every year. You guys do so much work in preparation for Hot Times and all of your hard work is paying off. Every year it's better and better!
Thanks also to Kimberly Adams, who was our Saturday night super-star demonstrator! Also to all of the people who offered so generously to share their knowledge with everyone there.

I agree with everything you said, Bek. This retreat had an incredible energy and I loved all the knowledge that was shared!
I said this in another thread but it can sure stand repeating -- Marjorie and Gary put on a heck of a show!
