I have not done it, but my guess would pvc glue, like you use on pvc plumbing pipe, provided the rail really is pvc and not some other plastic. The pvc glue is very stinky, so do it outside if that's what you decide to use! If nobody here has an answer, maybe try asking wherever you bought the fence rail?

I used clear silicon the cheap 2 bucks a tube stuff, I put a small marble size dot about 5 inches in at each end and stacked them and put a weight on top over night. I made them in 5 piece sections as that what i got out of 1 length.
I used the silicon just in case i ever want to get them back apart as i will be able to slide a thin knife in between and cut the silicon " I hope lol " if not O well the silicon is still a cheap glue.
I was going to use the PVC glue but then went with the silicon and it worked good

I also just stuff them in a "milk crate". I put a piece of wood on the top and side to fill the extra space so the fence pieces don't move around. You could also wedge books or anything in there.

I just wind a strip of clear packing tape around them.

I just stacked mine in the cubby but If I was going to glue them together I would stagger them and leaves regular gaps...that's like getting extra sections for nothing!

I don't glue mine either - I like to be able to shuffle them around.

Another vote for not glueing them. They are easier to re-arrange that way.

Gorilla glue. I glued stacks of 4 rails together, then glued 2 stacks together for a 4x6 block. Then I'm able to arrange these blocks how I want, or move them around if I want. I also have several free sections to "fill in the spaces", or to use for special glass that I don't have much of.

The hot glue didn't hold. It just broke away in the winter when it got cold here. I tape in sections of four and I easily lift these filled with glass and move them if I have to. I use clear packing tape. That stuff is strong!!!

I can never find the pvs railing at either Home Depot OR lowes...maybe I'm looking in wrong area. However, I have made three storage containers by purchasing 1.5 " PVC tubing and cutting them into 12" lengths and then placing them into the rectangulat milk crates. Wedgeing 2 x4 and cardboard to hold everything in place.
