Default How Was This Made? Tut?

I love this style bracelet and have seen it several times before, but never a tutorial telling how to do it. I'd even purchase a tut explaining how to accomplish this look, but I don't know where to find one (or what this technique is called). Can anyone help? Thank you!

It looks like wire wrapping to me.

Looks like wire wrapping to me, too, and it's beautiful!

You might check out Kerry Bogert's book, Totally Twisted (this looks like a riff on her bangle design on the cover?):
http://www.amazon.com/Totally-Twiste.../dp/1596681683

Also those rings by the lampwork look like there is more wire wrapping, and those (or similar links) might be found in Cindy Wimmer's book, The Missing Link:
http://www.amazon.com/The-Missing-Li...d_bxgy_b_img_z

Beaducation also has some free video classes about wirework, including coiling by hand or with a drill. You can also buy a coiling gizmo that helps make uniform coils, but for this bracelet I bet it's not so hard to just coil directly on the fatter wire.
http://www.beaducation.com/class_categories/2

Good luck with it!

Yes the missing link book is great. My friend and I spent some time making the components.

That looks like Keirsten Gile's work, the Cerebral Dilettante. She is a truly inspirational wire artist that uses a lot of lampwork beads in her work. I have followed her blog for many years and she has been a big influence on my work. If you follow the link she explains how she made this bracelet.

The bead section is is strung on a heavy piece of what looks like brass wire with the ends having a loop formed and the end of the wire coiled back around the loop. The other half of the bracelet is a heavy piece of brass wire flattened on one end (right side of picture) and made into a loop and the other end left round with a loop formed . The length of wire was coiled with wire to add texture and interest to the piece. Spacer beads, jump rings etc addedinbetween beads and at ends. IMO

Nice bracelets, Joyce, thanks for sharing! I first saw this style in Santa Fe probably almost 15 years ago, but I don't recall the name of the artist who was making them at the time. They look like they would sit well on the wrist and be very comfortable to wear ~ are they?

Thanks Jo, Yes they are comfortable to wear. Thats why I like them, the bracelet curves to the shape of your wrist and stays in place, other designs tend to make the heavy beads drop to one side of your arm, which to me is annoying.

Thanks for the information. I have been incorporating more wire work into my designs.

My weird question...do the coils catch your arm hairs? I can't stand something pulling hair while I'm wearing it!

No Bretta, they are very tightly wound and very smooth to touch.

Let me know if you want a photo breakdown of component pieces.
I think I have everything but the bead caps and BHBs
Its fairly easy but takes a little time to do it well.

I would love a photo breakdown--I'm visual and am new to wirework!
