Question Fusing Schedule for Moretti Rods

Hello everybody,

Does anyone has a fusing schedule for Moretti glass? Or where can I find it.

I want to fuse my end rods in something nice.

Greetings from Holland!

Margriet.

The 6-7mm size? I have a Paragon Fusion-7, a top loading brick kiln with a sentry digital controller - this is the rough schedule I'm using when I fuse my shorts into a sheet to use - the rods are laid side by side mostly in 1 layer.

ramp to 970 (Farenheit) and hold for 20 min (don't feel the need to ramp up slow - I'm making a sheet and it doesn't really matter if something cracks on the way up in temperature)
ramp to 1350 and hold for 30 min
(this is where I check them and see how they are doing - I check at the beginning of the 1350 hold and periodically throughout)

that's all I've written down from the last time I did the run - I find I don't have to go up to the full fuse temp of 1450 - I just hold a little longer at a lower temp.

Hope that helps!
Cindy

Cindy, sure that helps! You even gave me a new idea. Cut the sheet in pieces and then use it again for lampworking.

Thanks a lot!!!

By the way... I visited your website. Great art you made!
