Yes there should be an invoice with it. Looks to me to be a reduction or striking frit.
What with my memory these days I've taken to saving a txt doc of what I order.

One of the good sides of senior memory loss, is that I only have to own one movie!

I purchased a HUGE lot and I know that the people I purchased it from will not be able to help. The good news is that the majority of the lot is fabulicious!!! Lots of old colors, mostly labeled etc... This is one of the very few that has me scratching my head.

Can't help you with this one. But my guess is it's American-made glass since it's packaged in a pound package rather than kilo. But I don't recognize the packaging at all, so maybe it was just repackaged by whoever sold it. That didn't really help, did it?

Nope, not necessarily. I bought a "kilo" of iris gold frit in the good old USA and had NO IDEA that a kilo weighed THAT much! Silly me. Pound might indicate US but it can't always be for sure. I don't do well with the metric system. I was giving away Iris Gold to everyone I met in Maine!

My guess is the pictured package is Iris Gold, simply cuz it's such a special frit.

OK, my little experts...with a couple of wisemheimers (LOL!) mixed in. Made a base bead with my Moretti black...introduced it to this "frit / bread crumbs," and did not get the result I had hoped for. The "frit" turned black, and did not adhere to the glass...I should also mention a funny smell.

As I think about it, my first impression was that the bag of what I too thought was frit seemed a little light in weight than I would have expected. Some sort of plastic??? Well, I obviously can't use or sell it until I figure it out. Guess it will sit for a while, or end up in the dumpster! Sheesh!

I know this might sound a bit stupid, but does this product (although it does seem in the photo to have a crystaline/glass-like appearance?) dissolve in warm water? Does it have an (forgive me...) "eggpoop" smell (gawd!)? If so, it could be liver of sulfur treatment for metals.

Just throwing ideas out there...

It looks a little gold for this, but could it be vermiculite?

They might have used a baggie of vermiculite to ship something tiny so that it wouldn't get lost!

I'm thinking it's what Deanna said: "liver of sulfer." Only problem is that I googled it and don't see any that looks like what I have. Ugh!

If it is liver of sulfur, it will smell rotten eggy right in the bag - and will dissolve readily in water. It doesn't look like LOS to me.

Do you have a pic of it out of the bag?

Could it be hide glue? You add water it absorbs the water turns to a jelly mess and then you heat it thins out and you put in on etched glass to achieve glue chipping. Really looks like that have you ever done glue chipping?
