Default Stencils for glass

Hi everyone! I'm interested to know what kind of stencils I can use for/with enamels on my beads. I would apply the enamel while still making my bead(s) so obviously not paper or plastic.

I'm also interested in knowing about stencils to be used with etching but thats later down the road. I also remember seeing on Facebook a set of pens that could be used on beads. After a design is drawn the bead can be fired in an oven....does that sound right?

thanks

Duane

The last one sounds like the TI pens.
Depending on the scale you can use the paper/plastic patterns
layout the enamel on a flat piece of graphite or brass
list the stencle leaving behind the pattern
and use the hot glass to pickup the enamel.
It will reverse the image.

As for etching your masking the area you don't want to etch.
The masking agent changes depending on the etching method.
Some paints will mask and can be applied with rubber stamps.

I have found small brass stencils at craft stores. Nor sure what they were for, I saw potential, but could never get a clean edge or I would get the next stencil over at the same time. Was fun to plat with. I had the best success when I put the stencil on a marver and sifted powder over it then carefully removed the stencil and rolled the bead on the marver. This also allowed me to clean up the edges before rolling the bead, and avoid multiple stencils being filled.
