Coming from Canada to teach: Raking and Masking Techniques with Amy Waldman-Smith at the Craft Guild of Dallas on May 18th & 19th.
Cost is $400 plus facility fee and the cost of glass.
skill level: Intermediate /Advanced
Amy will share her beadmaking techniques for creating the tiny details that make a bead stand out in this two-day
workshop. She will break down the process of making finely detailed beads into small steps, so that you can slowly
build up the details, layer by layer to create your own intricate beads.
On day one, students will spend time honing their abilities with skill-building exercises in raking, dot application, heat control and shaping. The next day will be spent putting those skills together to create amazing works of art. Applying these techniques open up an extra dimension to the potential in anyone’s work.
Techniques covered include: Pulling even stringers (thick and thin), layering, raking, masking, detailed dot application and problem fixing.
Amy is an attentive and giving teacher who strives to be the kind of teacher she would enjoy taking classes from.
Amy has been teaching lampwork since 2003 and has taught over 300 people over the years. She is an award-winning artist whose work has been exhibited across North America. She taught at Bead & Button last year and our own Becky Moore took her class and loved it!!
