Layered florals ... ?
I don't know if that's the correct term for them or not ... Maria Grimes makes beautiful layered flowers, and so does another lady (although I can't remember her name at the moment). It's a layered technique that I would love to learn, or at least get some ideas in the right direction to try on my own. Has anyone made flowers like this? (I'm talking about the poinsettias)

It looks like a base bead that has 3 gathers of "leaf green" dots placed, heated and then squeezed with tweezers then 5 dots of "petal red" placed overlapping the leaves - heated and then flattened/center depressed and leaving the center open...then the 5 SMALL white dots placed at the joints of the red petals.
Good luck!

Hi Lynn ... that's what I thought too ... so do you think that it's a round bead that all of the layering is done on? I wasn't sure.

I guess if I was doing it, I would make a round bead and then marver so it's more of a tube shape to give a little better support base and more area to spread the leaf dots.
Post a picture when you take the plunge.
Where is Trinity? My brother & wife are up here (N WI) for a couple of weeks each Christmas....they are nuts as they leave Clearwater FL for our winter!

Trinity is about 40 minutes driving time from Trinity (which is actually a new development in New Port Richey). I'm just inside the Pasco Cty line - right next to Pinellas, where Clearwater is. Right now it's about 63-ish degrees and I'm freezing!
