poking a bead with a graphite reamer
sucks! At least.. I suck at it. I tried once and broke my reamer while trying to poke through the hot glass. How do I poke through it without breaking my reamer or destroying my bead? Can anyone give me some hints in the right direction, cause I can't figure it out!
Thanks ,
Suzanne

I've never heard of doing this with graphite. What I have heard is using tungsten.

I hadn't tried it yet but I had thought the same thing, that maybe you could make the hole with the graphite rod...I heard different here...

I've also poked with a mandrel and it worked great.

lol and here I was thinking I needed to poke with the graphite reamer... no wonder the poor thing broke, just not sturdy enough to go through hot glass. I will try a mandrell today since I gave away my tungsten poker to a friend of mine who turned out to be my worst enemy .. ahh well, I hope she enjoys the poker
