Colours NOT to use with silver.
Here's an ANTI tip thread.
Don't try to silver Seashell Swirl...it's revolting.
I don't have a pic...I managed to save it by wrapping a shard over it.

If it is the Vetro sea shell swirl Hades looks great with it - after you are all done making the bead wave it in a reducing flame and MAGIC!

Hmmm. Seashell Swirl and Hades, two colors I have a ton of. Have to go try this! Wonder if Hades Unique would be even better?

Cool, I hadn't tried that! As you can see, SS rocks the house with raku or Chalcedony.

I wonder if she meant, fine silver. Like actual SILVER. Cause it looks like silver glass really likes SS.

A lot of my beads use fine silver wire or foil, and it polays nicely--gets a bit yellow if you use a LOT, but strips of foil and raku play VERY nicely with Seashell.

That's what I'm getting at.
Yes it was fine silver leaf...the same one I use on all my other silver-loving colours.
Seems that some of you just have the touch in getting it to come out nice. I put the silver on...went er-yuk and immediatley covered it with a shard.
I was certain Seashell swirl was going to play nice with the silver somehow...I forgot that pinks generally don't.
Off to hide now.

I've heard that pinks like Rubino don't like Ivory or ivory based colours either...
(CiM Hades is great as a base with silver glasses...I hear that it does neat things with fine silver too and makes for cool silvered stringers!)

Correct . . . . one of my first newbie flopped experiments was spending a day making ivory and rubino beads thinking they'd turn out to be a pretty antiqued/dusty rose color. Um, no.

Silver Pink and Rubino may be the prettiest combination ever.

Ditto that!
Even silver glass (like Kronos) looks like poop on pink

Seashell Swirl looks awesome with silver... I don't understand what the ugliness factor is here.
These beads are Seashell Swirl with silver foil and silver glass.
Tongue Pink, on the other hand, is FOUL with silver.

Raspberry Opal makes a great base for some of the new DH test lots and for Ekho.
Nice beads Melanie.

I can make pink look poopy without adding silver to the mix. I tried to make a light rose goddess with pomegranite breeze frit today. I think I'm going to quietly bury the evidence...

Yes I was talking about Reichenbach Raspberry Opal Mary.
Pomegranate Breeze is awesome on most pinks, maybe you cooked it too much Celeste?
