Question glass in a skin tone ?

I am looking for a color that will look peachy, like for a skin tone, I am making heads for angels, but not shure what color to use....I have made some of the kidlet beads from Lori's tutorial, but my faces were way off, look like little ghosties.
Any help would be apprieciated.........thank you . angela(skeeter)

Have you tried any CIM colors? There are three that might be what you want - Sepia transparent, Ginger or Butter Pecan.

I once bought the perfect shade of 260 light pink for light peachy/pink skin tones. 261 isn't so bad either but kind of too pale and too pink IMO.

This is a pic of the 260 as skin tone. I made this a loooong time ago. I'm much more mature now.

redheads - Cim Butter pecan
normal caucasians - CIM ginger
Asian - Lauscha buckhorn
Middle east/ India - Lauscha buckhorn W/ silver
Dark African - Lauscha cocoa

These colors make especially nice skin tones IMHO because they have a slight translucency that give a little more life to people than effetre colors. Lauscha Caramello can be a nice skin tone, but I have a hard time with it going too pink-y when I odn't want it to so I rarely use it. I haven't found a nice lighter african color, everything is too red or too yellow. With effetre, you can mix a *little* coral into light pink and get something a bit better than light pink, but you get some streakiness from the hand mixing.

Wow Jen. You really have that down!
I have a new color from Lauscha called Peach Blush that a lot of people have been buying for skin tones. It has silver in it though and can be struck to different shades.
I also just put a mini tutorial up in the Tut section with information from Carol Anne in Lauscha about how to keep the rods translucent if you want them to stay that way.

I make tiffany angels and used clear glass for a long time until I experimented with a light topaz glass....it looks like my angels could have spent the summer somewhere on the beach or that they come from North Africa.

Ask your supplier if he has Rosa D'angelo, I believe that is what it is called ( angelpink) , the italian masters use this for their skin colored sculptures
