Anodizing requires a power supply that can give you 70-130 VDC. I bought one to play around with and soon discovered I was too much of a klutz to work up close with that much voltage. Nothing fatal at the low current levels, just enough voltage to lock me up until the wife found me and shut it down.
I was going to anodize titanium. It was very difficult to work with, so the combination shut that experience down.
