Default Loose Beads or Jewelry... how do you decide?

I make both finished jewelry and lampwork beads. I don't sell much of either, so that's not a deciding factor for me.

For those of you who make both beads and jewelry too, how do you decide which way to list a particular bead / set of beads? As loose beads or as a finished piece?

For my time, I make more money with beads than I do making them into jewelry. Say I have a focal that sells for $20 retail - I get $14 of that on consignment. A necklace would cost more material and time and maybe I'd get $25 out of it? Just not worth my time.

You're not marking your jewelry up enough. A necklace with a 20.00 focal plus other materials should be at least $60.00
For me...it depends on the beads and how much I'm in the mood to make jewelry. I only consign at one shop, all the rest of my jewelry is sold either on Etsy/AF or at shows. I definitely sell more beads though!

We started making everything into Jewelry and like others found it is hard to get your profits out of the finished pieces.

Beads seem to sell better than complete items.
