The copper welders paddle from HF?
I've been looking at them every time I went in the store, then yesterday DH said "just get it" so I did.
Before I take them out of the package, has anyone tried using one for marvers to cool their glass, etc.?

Welder's copper paddle? Do you have a pic Eileen? My imagination is just failing me this AM.

Found it, they call it a welder's spoon:

And I was thinking it was more, so what the heck, for that price I'll give it a shot, right?

Thanks Eileen, well isn't that interesting. I have known a few welders, but never seen them use this item. Your right about the price...what the heck.

They are used mainly for light sheet metal work, car bodies and such.
The copper is gonna get hot fast, you are going to have to quench it, or wax it for prolonged use

I have a few friends who have bought these and used them as marvers.

So does that mean it draws the heat fast? I was thinking of using it with silver glass to do the quick cool down.

Copper will pull heat from the glass fairly quick, much like an aluminum marver but with a much higher melting point.

It's going to pull the heat and stay hot, so you are going to need to quench it in water

I have similar and the copper does not get hot fast nor any hotter then brass, and cools super fast. My x made mine and I absolutely love them.
