Using raw glass with Sculpey?
Hi! I apologize if this is a stupid question....I am wanting to start a project that would incorporate raw glass rods and/or chips/pieces and bake them (regular over 275 degrees) with/into Sculpey polymer clay. Is this possible? Will the glass break or explode? C
OEs I am looking at are 96 or 104. Please help

I made a project with both of those but the glass was a bunch of cabochons I made and annealed. No breakage or popping but I would think rods would be fine also.

Should be ok, I have used sculpy with random glass objects in the past without issues.
It sometimes shrinks away from the glass a little but a dab of glue fixed it.

I use sculpey to make my broken focal beads into recycled pendants. I simply put the piece into the oven before heating it so the glass has a chance to warm slowly.

Before I did any glass work or knew anything about COE, I made these using fimo with vintage (around 2014 COE) Czech glass cabs. The cabs were put into black clay to make small pendants. No preheating, went into the oven together with the clay. Had no problems with cracking at all.
