That's a great idea! I have some of those molds too, but not the grinder part. Guessing O can work around it though lol.

Juls, your story telling of this process was hilarious. Thanks for the laugh, you have no idea how much I needed one.

Thanks, Teri.
Sonja, if you get to playing and need some edges ground down I'd be happy to do it for ya if you want to ship them here.
Lizzy, I'm glad it amused you.
Robyn, I *am* a beginner as far as using molds and scrap glass. I have a few molds from Slumpy's and you can find a wealth of info on the Warm Glass Forum. There is also a fusing/slumping section here on LE.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who a) stuffs things in drawers and then forgets all about them and b) uses a 'suck it and see' methodology for crafts.
Who needs recipes when one can just make stuff up?
I've been making futile attempts to produce frit from my ends, so now I'll go the other way and fuse them together rather than go 'splodey on them.
Sorry to hear you broke your cab mold though

Excellent tutorial, and funny too! Your humour is great. You may need to write a book one day.

I was just checking out the slumpys site for some molds & found a tutorial they had referenced with the molds. The tutorial mentioned using a spray primer on the molds before you slump. Yikes! the stuff is $59 a can. Did you use it or just shelf paper or ???
I'd appreciate your thoughts cause I'm choking on $59 a can CarrieB

Juls,
Thanks for sharing. Your blog made me laugh several times...
I was pondering what to do with all of those bits and pieces! I thought about frit and then using on tubing and blowing out into xmas ornaments.
I have had those occassions where I have had to refire projects using frit, etc, several times and also have had those items that even after refiring several times, I havent figured out what to do with. of course, Garbage can comes to mind but ack there's maybe like a buck+ of glass in one of those rejects LOL
so I have a barrel of rejected rejects....
Now that I think of it,
Hammer, canvas and some resin comes to mind - stepping stones for the garden might be nice!
Carrie, regular kiln wash, grind grind grind and then back in kiln for a quick fire polish
