Default Question about make up air

Can I just open a window on the other side of the garage as a source of make up air? How far open does it need to be? Or do I really need another hole in the garage with a fan bringing air into the garage?

Window accross garage is fine..... Make up air should come in same room from outside not through whole house to be effective.... Forcing air IN with another fan just complicate the issue.... Nature will force fresh air in as you draw bad air out.....

Just be sure to open it!...

As far as how open it needs to be, calculate the square inches of your duct (for round duct PI * Radius of the duct squared). Then calculate the dimensions of the window. If the window is smaller than the duct, you should open the larger garage doors in addition to the window.
