Lightbulb Suggestions for dog collar and beads

Hi,

There has to be ideas out there that you can share with me for how to attach my lampwork beads to my handmade leather dog collars, for small dogs.

I make leather collars to match outfits and would love to know various ways to have my beads integrated with the handmade leather collars I am making.

Since we all have lots of technical skills making jewelry, I thought you could give me some help and get my brainstorming started!

what about riveting them to the collar? Or dangling one from a loop in front?

I picture a series of lentil or tab beads laced to a leather collar with a leather thong.

I used a headpin through the bead then a lobster claw clasp through the loop at the top of the headpin. That way I could change out which bead my dog had on, so they were "collar charms".

All three suggestions are great!

My thoughts were along the same lines, so I appreciate that I'm at least thinking in the right direction.

It may be that having a headpin with loop at both ends of the ends may be a good way to connect the beads to the various suggestions.

Working with leather just makes things a bit different than my usual jewelry.

I used to make dog bone beads for a dog collar company (roverdog8productions) before moving to the US. I used to assemble the dog bone charms and attach them onto the collar too. We found that using appropriately sized crimps, split rings and some decorative metallic beads strung on good quality 49 strand beading wire worked well. In this case, your charm is only as good as your crimp.
