Who does the Bead Renaissance Shows?
Bead Renaissance is coming to Boise in June. Do any of you do their shows in your areas? Their table rates match Tucson, which is a bit much for this area. A friend wants to split a table and I'm not sure it would be worth it. Would appreciate any input you might have.

Hi Laura!
I do the Bead Renaissance in Grapevine, TX . . . it's probably a medium-sized show, nowhere near Tucson, but not dinky either. I always go to that show very well prepared because it's usually busy and I sell lots
I'd go for it, especially if you have the opportunity to share a space with somebody. Even if things are a little slow right now, you're not funding an entire booth.

Laura, I was wondering about the Boise show as well. I'm not sure if it will be worth it as it is new. Who knows though? I think we are going to do the Vegas one instead, as it is established and should be bigger.
Has anyone done the Vegas show? Is it worth it?

I've done the Vegas show twice. First time back in the 90s when it was at a smaller venue. Not many beads more flat glass stuff. I did well at that, but was selling more of Bill's sculptures and videos then beads. Did one I think 2 years ago at the new venue and biz sucked. The tables were really small, probably 18 x 36......lots more beads, marbles, etc and less flat glass. Filip is going, why don't you check with him, he's done it for about 3 years now and I think he does well with his marbles and boro beads. I'm in no way going to spend the money the show in Boise wants, that's ridiculously high for this area don't you think? I have a good following here but I can't see making booth fee and also profit. Filip is looking for someone to share....call him.

I've done Bead Ren here in KC and their prices are just too high for me to do the show now. Honestly, i would love to see show promoters offer tiered rates based on the vendor. Importer, large inventory company should pay a higher rate than a single lampworker. An artist rate would be so much easier for us to handle.
