Time for a new concentrator but which one?
Hi everyone! I am currently using a nortel minor burner with a 5lpm post medical Devilbiss oxycon. I need more heat big time. I am moving into larger beads, small sculptures and would like to try boro. No can do with what I have now. There are 2 concentrators available in my area that I have am considering. One is the Ex15 which offers 8lpm and the other is another 5lpm devilbiss like the one I have now to be used in tandem with my current machine. I am also considering moving up in torches in the near future.....perhaps to the mega minor so I need something that will run the mega well too.
Since I have no clue which way to go I thought I would turn to my favourite mentors in the world......the LE community! Without you guys I wouldn't be able to do a thing..........Oh, which reminds me, I had my very first sale a week ago and sold a LOT of stuff and have many orders for more......thanks to all of the great help and support I got right here. THANK YOU ALL!!!!
What do you think about my oxycon options? Any suggestions?
Thanks again to all of you in this wonderful community!

I recommend talking to Kimberly (kbinkster) of Pyronamix. She is a wealth of information. My M-15 broke after using it for 2 years, just used on the weekends and the only way I can get it fixed is to ship it back to the manufacturer which is costly. The modified concentrators can't be fixed locally as no medical supply place will fix one that has been altered. I also question why it broke with so little use. I don't abuse my equipment.
Kimberly was great at giving me the facts without trying to make me buy one of her concentrators. After talking to her I bought a Regalia 10 LPM and I love it. I would rather chain together a bunch of 5 LPM machines instead of getting another modified concentrator. Just my two cents.

I have an EX-15 running my Firebird (comparable to a minor) and it works great. I can make boro marbles up to 1.5-2" with it.

I have two 5-lpm machines running my minor. It makes a huge difference as compared to just one machine and the minor. I wouldn't be able to stand running my minor on just one machine, but two hooked together is great.
Congrats on the successful sale!
