Hi Deb.

From our Program Director:

If the child is under 5 years old the parent is responsible for the program. The caregivers instruct the family on enrollment of this responsibility and we have not had any incidences.

Another hole size question.

I know you prefer 3/32 but would you accept 5/64?

Candace, thanks so much for the GREAT info!!! I try to donate a zip-lock baggie worth of beads every month and now I feel like I have a "to-do" list of themed beads to work on

Which is great because I get lost without lists....

And Kristena, I'll definitely check out the "critter bead" tutorial!! I am a newbie so any tuts on themed beads are more than welcome, free or for sale

Hi fellow lampworkers'
I just joined Lampwork Ect. I am very interested in BOC as I have 5-10lbs. of beads that are very nice but not worth more than $2.00 apiece. I would rather donate them to the children instead of just leaving them in a box.
Regards Carl D.

Hi Carl,
Your donation would be most welcome. Be sure to fill out the donation form and include it inside the package when you send your beads. You'll receive a Thank You card and a receipt for your tax-deductible donation.
Thanks for all you do for Beads of Courage!

Robert

Nice to see these tips. I've got a collection of beads I'm saving up for BoC.

Wow Pat! That’s an awesome contribution that is going to put smiles on so many special faces. Enlarged your pic for a better view and I just love them all.

I live close to Toronto, Canada. Do you know if the Hospital For Sick Children is involved with Beads of Courage?
Thanks!

Here's the list from the BoC website June - quite a few hospitals in Canada but I don't see any in Toronto.

Thanks so much for the list, Patty! Maybe I can discover why the Hospital for Sick Children isn’t participating. In the meantime, I’ll ask that my beads go to Guelph.

Default Space? Faith?

I have been making two specific types of beads to donate, Space themed with an astronaut and planets on a lentil and a faith bead. From teaching middle school science, I know kids love space exploration and it is something for a boy other than sports! (Not saying exclusively boys, though!) From personal experience with families that undergo these health trials, faith becomes an important role in their journey. So I have been making beads with 5 loaves and 2 fishes to depict one of the miracles from the Bible. I know it is different, but I hope it encourages someone!
