It depends. Do you want to do a visible watermark (like your name across it) or a digital watermark that is embedded into the file itself?
If it's a visible watermark, open the photo, add your watermark, and then save the whole thing as a JPG file.
If it's a digital watermark, I think that only works with Photoshop.
