Default Help with striking beads

I would love to know the best way to strike 2 encased boro beads on one rod. I make earring pairs and by the time I get the first one done the second has struck on its own. Do I strike BEFORE encasing or AFTER. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Always strike last. So make the colored core, heat it up until all the color goes away, encase, then strike.
