Mother of Pearl effect?
I'm using light ivory as a base and would like to get a mother of pearl look on part of it. Any Suggestions? Thanks, Ernie Wagner

Maybe use a luster or reduction frit on part? It would change the color of the ivory but it rocks. Or something like double helix in a reduction color in a swipe. Then reduce to a shine. I love using reduction Frit on ivory. I even love putting stringer down and only getting Frit on the stringer then reducing! Really cool! E-mail me fireglassbeads@yahoo.com. I'll send you a pic. Try pixie dust over periwinkle encased in transparent blue or swirls of blue, green, and violet encased in a light transparent and rolled in pixie dust.

You need to go about 3/4 down the page and there are 2 pics ... Maybe that might be what you are looking for? It looks as if one of the beads has an ivory base.

It depends on if you mean mother of pearl in the glass version of a few years ago, and it's not made any more OR real mother-of-pearl. I think you could use CIM cirrus over a bit of dichro and it would be stunning.

These are made with from left to right, uranium yellow opaque, white, white, white and all rolled in white pixie dust.
