I am venturing into the boro world (have some glass ordered). Can you tell me please what the annealing cycle/temps would be to batch anneal? I know they are different than with 104, but not sure what they should be. THANKS
I don't batch anneal boro but I will put pieces in to the kiln for a second or third striking cycle. I have never had a problem ramping my pieces at full from room temperature to striking temperature. For me that is usually anywhere from 1050 degrees to 1175 degrees. I will hold for 30 minutes to an hour depending on what I am trying to achieve. Then ramp down at 60 degrees an hour to 950 the standard strain point of boro then hold it about an hour deprnding on the size of my work. After that, my kiln shuts down.
If I were to batch anneal I would run the same program but I don't see a need to batch anneal.
